The title of this seminar “ADR methods in the resolution of cross-border family conflicts: special reference to mediation.”

In particular, this session is manly focused on the importance of alternative dispute resolution methods, with special reference to mediation, in order to promote the resolution of cross-border family conflicts. In this respect we will carry out an in-depth analysis of the relevant role that mediation could acquire in child abduction cases and the importance of the role developed by the mediator. In addition, aspects such as the ethics of the mediator or the importance of speeding up judicial and administrative proceedings in order to avoid separating the child from a parent will be dealt with during the seminar.

In this respect, the different subtopics will enable us to carry out a detailed analysis of several relevant aspects which are directly linked to the importance that cases of cross-border family conflicts are acquiring nowadays, also considering the increased number of mixed marriages. We are going to share the international experts’ opinion and the participants’ approach on these topics from their own perspective, experience and respective competences.  Through an in-depth and detailed discussion, we will know the current situation related to the topics under discussion that are detailed in the agenda, all of them being main subtopics that will be object of the discussions.
