The project phases developed so far have shown that one of the institutional factors that are not clearly resolved in the region is the division of governance powers -constitutional and legal - of the Judiciary and the Administration of justice between the various institutional actors and powers. Undoubtedly this is due to its complexity and examples of this can also be found in the EU MS. This is a very topical issue due to recent changes, including constitutional ones that occurred in the region, directly or indirectly produced by the Arab Springs.

The title of this seminar is “International Conventions on Penitentiary Law”. In particular, this session is focused on the importance of International Conventions on Penitentiary law in order to reinforce the Rule of Law and international cooperation in this field. In this respect, the different subtopics will enable us to carry out an in-depth analysis of several relevant aspects which are directly linked to the importance of international conventions in this field and the advisability of ratifying them. We are going to share the international experts’ opinion and the participants’ approach on these topics from their own perspective, experience and respective competences.

The title of this seminar “Dispute resolution structures and recognition of decisions in cross-border cases”

The title of this seminar is “Methodologies for electronic case management”. In particular, this session is a continuation of the first training session which was focused on the relevant role that IT and New Technologies have acquired nowadays in order to improve efficiency of justice so as to guarantee an effective access to justice for citizens. In this respect during this second training session we will go one step further in order to discuss in more details how to take advantage of new technologies for case management in courts.

The title of this seminar is “Criminal Conventions on Criminal Law”. In particular, this session is focused on the importance of International Conventions on criminal law in order to reinforce the Rule of Law and international cooperation in this field. In addition, the participants attending activities of the first phase of the project stressed the importance of dealing with the work developed by the European Judicial Network.
